Day to Day Itinerary
Certainly! Here’s a detailed day-to-day itinerary for the 8-day Lemosho Route climb on Mount Kilimanjaro

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Attend a pre-climb briefing with your guide to discuss the trek and check your gear. Overnight stay at a hotel in Moshi.

Day 2: Moshi to Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp)

After breakfast, drive to Londorossi Gate (2,100 meters) for park formalities. Continue by vehicle to Lemosho Glades trailhead (2,385 meters). Begin hiking through rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,820 meters). Lunch on the trail. Dinner and overnight camping at Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp

After breakfast, trek through rainforest, crossing a valley and streams. Ascend to Shira 1 Camp (3,505 meters) at the edge of the Shira Plateau. Lunch on the trail. Dinner and overnight camping at Shira 1 Camp.

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Breakfast at Shira 1 Camp. Hike across the Shira Plateau, passing through moorland vegetation. Arrive at Shira 2 Camp (3,850 meters) in the afternoon. Lunch on the trail. Dinner and overnight camping at Shira 2 Camp.

Day 5: Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

After breakfast, ascend to Lava Tower (4,600 meters) for acclimatization. Descend to Barranco Camp (3,960 meters) through the scenic Barranco Valley. Lunch at Lava Tower or Barranco Camp. Dinner and overnight camping at Barranco Camp.

Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Breakfast at Barranco Camp. Climb the Barranco Wall, a steep scramble to the top. Trek through Karanga Valley to Karanga Camp (3,995 meters). Lunch on the trail. Dinner and overnight camping at Karanga Camp.

Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

After breakfast, ascend through barren alpine desert to Barafu Camp (4,673 meters). Lunch at Barafu Camp. Rest and prepare for the summit attempt. Early dinner and early bedtime at Barafu Camp.

Day 8: Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Wake up around midnight for a light snack and final preparations. Start the summit attempt, hiking steep scree to Stella Point (5,685 meters). Continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point in Africa, for sunrise. Descend back to Barafu Camp for brunch and rest. Continue descending to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters) for dinner and overnight camping.

Day 9: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate and Departure

Breakfast at Mweka Camp. Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters). Collect summit certificates and bid farewell to your mountain crew. Transfer back to your hotel in Moshi for a celebratory meal and overnight stay.
