Mikumi National Park- Because of its accessibility Mikumi is one of the most popular National Park in Tanzania . It is about 300km to the West of Dar es salaam along the Dar-Mbeya highway.

The best attractions in Mikumi National Park;
Mkata Floodplain: Known as the “Little Serengeti,” it is rich in wildlife, including lions, elephants, zebras, and buffaloes, making it ideal for game viewing.
Hippo Pools: A great spot to observe hippos and crocodiles up close, with a viewing platform for safe observation.
Vuma Hills: Offering stunning views over the park, excellent for hiking and bird watching.

The best time to visit Mikumi National Park is during the dry season, from June to October. During this period, wildlife is easier to spot as animals gather around water sources, and the vegetation is less dense, providing better visibility. The weather is also more pleasant, with fewer chances of rain, making it ideal for game drives and outdoor activities.
